Ask it to create a recipe with the ingredients you currently have in your kitchen. If you aren’t getting the results you want, or you just want a different perspective, try Google’s Bard or Microsoft’s Bing Chat (yes, THAT Bing). If you are wanting to create a logo for your company or new side hustle without having to go thru the hassle of finding (and paying) a graphic designer somewhere online, or maybe you’re having trouble finding that perfect stock image for your new presentation…MidJourney is nothing short of mind blowing. I have used it for a number of projects, including the logos for our new shows, Welcome Home Sioux Falls and Precious Pet of the Month. Admittedly, it can be a bit of learning curve because it runs on Discord. If you don’t want to jump thru that many hoops, check out Stable Diffusion. It’s also one of the leaders on text based image generation. Embracing AI tools in your career can provide a significant edge in a competitive job market. From optimizing your resume to enhancing your skills, networking, and decision-making abilities, AI can support your career advancement at every stage. However, it's important to remember that AI is a tool, not a replacement for your unique human skills and experiences. Combining the power of AI with your personal strengths is the key to unlocking new career opportunities and achieving success in the ever-evolving job market. So, don't hesitate to explore and integrate AI tools into your career strategy today, and watch your professional journey soar to new heights.

In the world of marketing, there's an ongoing debate between results-driven strategies and awards-driven strategies. While awards may seem prestigious and appealing, let's take a closer look at why no one should care about them. In this post, we'll explore the merits of results-driven marketing strategies and debunk the myth surrounding the significance of awards.
1 Focus on What Matters: Achieving Tangible Results At the end of the day, what truly matters in marketing is achieving tangible results. It's about generating leads, increasing sales, improving brand awareness, and creating a positive impact on the bottom line. A results-driven marketing strategy focuses on measurable outcomes and the actual impact on the business. While awards may look impressive on a shelf, they don't necessarily reflect the success and effectiveness of a campaign. 2 The Illusion of Success: Awards as Vanity Metrics Awards often create an illusion of success. Companies may invest significant time, effort, and resources in pursuit of accolades, but that doesn't necessarily translate into real-world success. Winning awards doesn't guarantee an increase in revenue or customer satisfaction. They can become nothing more than vanity metrics, providing a fleeting sense of accomplishment without contributing to long-term growth or value creation. 3 Impressing Your Friends vs. Customer Needs Awards-driven marketing strategies tend to prioritize impressing industry peers rather than meeting customer needs. Instead of focusing on developing innovative products or delivering exceptional customer experiences, companies may be tempted to chase trends or mimic successful campaigns solely to garner recognition. This approach can lead to a disconnection between the brand and its target audience, ultimately hindering customer engagement and loyalty. 4 Authenticity and Transparency Results-driven marketing strategies prioritize authenticity and transparency. They focus on delivering genuine value to customers, building trust, and establishing long-lasting relationships. Awards-driven strategies, on the other hand, can inadvertently encourage companies to prioritize image and perception over substance. Customers are becoming increasingly discerning, seeking brands that are authentic and align with their values. Awards won't make up for a lack of substance or integrity. Conclusion While awards may be alluring and give a temporary ego boost, their importance in the grand scheme of marketing success is questionable. Results-driven marketing strategies, on the other hand, emphasize achieving measurable outcomes, satisfying customer needs, and driving business growth. By shifting the focus away from awards and toward delivering real value, companies can create more meaningful connections with their audience and establish themselves as industry leaders. So, let's set aside the obsession with awards and redirect our efforts toward creating impactful marketing campaigns that generate tangible results. Remember, in the end, it's not the shiny trophies on the shelf that matter, but the impact we make on our customers, our business, and the world around us. It's easy to have doubts right now. RIGHT? Between banks failing and people losing jobs...it's easy to get discouraged. Don't do it. I recently had to reevaluate my daily mindset because I found myself getting discouraged about things, usually business related, and that would often compound into ruining an entire day. And what did it gain me? What advantage was there for maintaining that mindset for an entire day? Jim Rohn is one of my favorite motivational speakers. He has a great quote that I re-read often; "People doubt the whole world is gonna make it! I'm asking you not to pick up all those doubts. I'm asking you to have some faith. Have some courage. BELIEVE! Drive your doubts into a small corner." There's no telling what we can accomplish if we CHOOSE to remove doubt and focus on having a mindset intent on pushing ourselves toward positivity. ONLY GOOD CAN COME FROM THIS. Hear more from Jim's speech here: Starhaven Films is now STARHAVEN MEDIA. I've seen an exponential need from clients for help with marketing...branding...IDEAS. I love video production, and we will continue to offer it. But as a company, we are now officially offering MARKETING, BRANDING, IDEA GENERATION, and thru the STARHAVEN NETWORK, websites and graphic/logo design.
My professional background is in Advertising, and creating ideas, concepts and strategies to help grow a business. We will now be able to accomplish this thru a targeted combination of IDEAS, COPYWRITING, BESPOKE PROMOTIONS, VIDEO PRODUCTION AND PHOTOGRAPHY. We want to be your CREATIVE ENGINE. Let's talk. It can all be confusing. And frustrating. MIND NUMBING. Huddled in the corner in the fetal position. Drenched in sweat. Heart beating out of your chest. The lights don't work. Power has been cut. Someone...or someTHING is in the house. You can hear the floorboards creek. You can smell a terrible foul stench. A low growl comes from the next room. And just like that, AN EXPLOSION rips off the side of the house. A hand reaches down and says... That was me! I mean...not in the movie. That was Arnold. Obviously. But I'm here! I'm trying to save you!
Ok that was maybe a little dramatic. I'm dramatic. But look...here's the truth; You find your business isn't growing. And you're not sure what to do. You don't think you can afford to pay for marketing. And the downward spiral continues. Suddenly this thing you loved...that you put your heart and soul into...is that monster in the next room. So let me ask you this...can you afford NOT to advertise? Ok your pulse is climbing again. See that paper bag on the kitchen counter? I want you to grab it and breathe into it slowly. Everything is going to be ok. This doesn't have to hurt. There are some really basic things we need to figure out...call it the fuel for the getaway car (yes, this analogy is growing thin). What is your UNIQUE SELLING PROPOSITION to use a big fancy industry term. What makes you different? What sets you apart...not only from your competition but from the other noise in the advertising stratosphere? CUZ BROTHER THERE IS A LOT OF IT. It's deafening. But if you have a carefully crafted message...a personal message with heart and emotion, it can cut thru the noise. And there you are...talking just to that one person. That one person that was meant to hear it. NO, I don't mean your message is only reaching ONE PERSON. I'm saying if your message is crafted the right way, the people hearing or seeing it...will feel like you are talking just to them. Get ready. You're about to go into overdrive. There are just so many things I see being done wrong. And so many businesses being sold a bill of goods based on these things. I needed a place to get some thoughts out there. At the end of the day, I hope this can be helpful to someone.
I'll talk mostly about marketing, advertising and branding. And possibly how video might be able to help you. |
